A young Edo Kiriko writer carves on amber glass
The shimmering flames

Delicacy and strength coexist
Glass of flame

Looking into the bottom of the glass, you can see a shining flame. There is such a glass of Edo Kiriko. Among Edo Kiriko, which has a lot of delicate cutting, haku glass, which is characterized by deep and thick cuts, is a popular workshop that creates a unique world view.

Among them, Hibana, which was made as one of the target products of Tokyo handicrafts, is a glass characterized by a thick curve that rises from the bottom. The thick and deep cut, which seems to be wrapped in a burning flame, became more impressive by using colored glass with blue and amber layered on top of each other.

On the irregular thick curve that is not like Edo Kiriko, there is a fine and delicate cut of the chrysanthemum connection pattern, which is the traditional pattern of Edo Kiriko. The contrasting design catches the eye and catches the viewer. I would like to recommend it as a gift for those who love their own personality.

Made by up-and-coming Edo Kiriko writer
The world of fluctuations

Yoshihiro Mitamura, a young Edo Kiriko writer, said, "I chose this path because I was fascinated by Edo Kiriko." He is a writer who is particular about how to express his own personality in the traditional Edo Kiriko pattern and to make products that can be used.

"I don't want Mitamura's products, but I want them to look at the glass in front of me and say,'I want this.'" Such thoughts are put into each glass. One of the expressions is a unique design with thick and deep curves that give a sense of dynamism and shallow, thin and complicated straight lines.

The world of fluctuations, which seems to have evolved Edo Kiriko while making you feel Edo Kiriko, seems to have cut Mr. Mitamura, who has both delicacy and spirit. Let's look forward to the future style of the artist who is attracting attention from home and abroad.
